Restaurant history

1998

The history of the restaurant goes to the far July 1998. It was then, after agreement with the owner of the premises juice bar shop «Vegetables, fruits» the company «Drive-in» (a future corporation «Resta») opened a small restaurant for 35 seats with Tex-Mex cuisine and the name of «Steakhouse».
Historically, the small shop on site which was founded by «Steakhouse» was an essential place of pilgrimage for all tourists and a favorite place of indigenous Odessa. Shop № 1 Odessa-fruit-vegetable-selling  was undoubtedly one of the best not only in the city, but also in the country, as evidenced by the first prize VDNH, according to which in 1981 vegetable store on Deribasovskaya was named the best magazine of the USSR.
The atmosphere of the room first of «Steakhouse» has been styled in «European country». In less than six months after opening, was awarded the popularity of the idea, and become decision to make reconstruction of a restaurant. As a result, the number of seats increased to 60 by building a small veranda from the side of Deribasovskaya on corner of Havannaya.


 

2000

In 2002, in 4 years after opening the interior and the menu of restaurant were somehow modernized. The name of restaurant was also specified. Now it began to refer to "Steakhouse. Meat and Wine". As a result of last reconstruction there was also one more necessary component of restaurant added - toilets (And what toilets! Believe me, it is worth separate visiting) before the securities saw off visitors in a toilet through street in shop. But even such extreme conditions could not prevent promptly growing popularity of restaurant.


2002

 In 2002, four years later after the opening, interior and the menu of the restaurant was a little modernised. The name was also corrected. Now it changed name to «Steakhouse. Meat and Wine».


2003

In 2003 the first holiday of Toscana cuisine - Festa di cucina Toscana was carried out. Initially it was planned as single event.

However subsequently the plans have changed. Lively and playful Toscana was very much attractive for odessites. It has been decided to transform the Italian holiday into tradition.


2005

In 2005 on the next Toscana holiday Romina has appeared for the first time - a statue of the cow full-scale which became a symbol of restaurant Steakhouse.Meat and Wine. And then even so-called original sight of Deribasovskaya.
